Christian Boltanski and Annalisa Rimmaudo Journal

"Journal" was born from a project that took shape during the first quarantine. Between March 16 and May 11, 2020, Christian Boltanski and Annalisa Rimmaudo had a telephone meeting every day at the same time. The exchange, intended to be published, was based on temporal conditions established by the artist: it had to cover the period of confinement and be punctuated daily. The intimate dimension of the conversation and the intensity of the situation, in resonance with the personal history of Christian Boltanski and his creative approach, gave rise to a singular testimony in which reflections on art mingle with memories. During her careful transcription of the interviews, Annalisa Rimmaudo wanted to focus the reader's attention on the artist's words, the only ones preserved: his years of learning, his meetings, his considerations on exhibitions or the world of art are relived here and delivered in all their acuteness and give this interview the form of a true life diary.
